I studied in St Charles from LKG(1987) till 10th std (1999). This is one of the best schools in Shimoga District of Karnataka. This is a very strict Convent school maintained by sisters.

The best part of my life was spent in this great school. I had lotz and lotz of friends during my stay of 12 years! Most of them are in touch today. By chance you are also one of my classmates and we are still not in touch then do ping me. :)

I used to enjoy everything in this school except studies :(

I used to play lot of sports and chat a lot. I was the talkative lot in the class and so very often subjected to punishments. :(

The school has a BIG BIG playground and I remember playing on every inch of the ground.

There was also a candywala in front of the gate and we used to enjoy eating Candy's on loan! :))

Sports day was one of the best days! We could just keep shouting and make all pranks and there would be no one to punish us!

Front view of our College

I Studied in AVS Science College from 1999-2001. I did my PUC here for 2 years. This the best part of my educational career. I started peaking from 1st PUC.

When I entered the college, I was 183rd in the selection list. In the first test, I managed to get 1st Rank and I continued that spirit all through 2 years. This was a performance I would never forget, because I got 1st rank after 8-10 years!!!! As far as I remember, I got 1st rank only in LKG's and UKG's.
Though I never cared for ranks, it is something nice to cherish.

I also played 2 state-level  basket ball tournaments during this period. I reached finals of Basket ball in Dasara competition. All through 6 years, I could never reach to finals, but in PUC I got good support from my friends in AVS and DVS college and hence could achieve the best.

The lecturers were the best part of this college. Our lecturers: Nagaraj for Physics, Radhika for Chemistry, Bhavanishankar for Mathematics, Geetha for Statistics were al just sooperb. They had the right attitude to coach students of that age. I never remember an incident when they scolded me for not attending the college on some days. They used to totally support students studying on their own.

However none of them are working in that college today. We were the last of the Golden era. Since it's inception, it gave sooperb output of students. For 2 continuous years it produced 2 ranks in 2nd PUC but from our immediate  seniors batch, ranks were  dismissed by state government.

Whatever, I started focussing my career seriously from this point and hence I owe a lot to this college.

 GK's Discussion Class

Discussion Class is a place where students discuss with students. Generally students from grades 8-12 come and interact. It's all in an informal way and hence ideal for learning. There is no teacher/student gap or barrier.  All this happens at Mr. Gopalakrishna Murthy's house, who if affectionately called GK Sir by the students. He is an LIC officer and has devoted his life to the education. He has a very creative mind and has very successfully completed around 32 years of Discussion Class. He has dedicated the first floor of his house entirely for students. If the class strength is high, the classes are held on the the terrace.
The classes were initially held in the car shed of GK sir's house with the shutter half shut. But now, they are shifted to the first floor. GK sir himself handles chemistry discussions. His classes are full of examples and humor and we often end up learning more than just chemistry.

It is he who ignited spirit inside me. He has this sooperb concept of finishing the syllabus within 2 months. The pace during that 2 month period is just too much. If someone is very intelligent then he can sleep for 5 hours a day!!! rest have to keep struggling solving the problems all through the day.

The idea behind this approach is to enable students to utilize the rest of 9-10 months for other activities like IIT preparation, etc...

Some articles on him:

I studied in RVCE Computer Science from 2001-2005. This is one of the best engineering colleges in Karnataka. After slogging in PU to get into this college, I could relax here!!!

A great college with HUGE HUGE brand name. It's a very old college and has an excellent alumni. It has some great professors and is ably lead by Prof Sharma. Most of the credit goes goes to Prof Holla, who drastically changed the fortunes of RVCE almost single handedly. He changed this college from Roudy college of engineering to a well respected, TOP  college in India.

I have some best moments of my life here. Luckily I got some very good friends. An always challenging environment, almost lifts anybody's standard. Everybody around me was within 300 CET rank. Almost all of them were extraordinarily brilliant and hence I had to constantly give my best efforts to stay in competition.

I bunked the classes for first time!!! I learned all such tricks and many more from my ever helping friends! :))
